Flaton-Joint Seal

Classified Fillings for fire protection joints - for building joints up to a joint width of 10 mm

Flaton-Joint Seal is a joint element in stripe form which is foaming in the case of fire, in terms of fire protection of building joints in walls or ceilings. Flaton-Joint Seal is consisting of a 2,5mm thick Flaton VPG 12-fire protection board (Authorisation Z-19.11-457 of „Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik“) and a laminated melamine resin foam ( 5 mm). The layer of 5 mm melamine resin foam is used for a compressible clamping of the seal into the joint. The effect is based on forming a heat insulating foam in case of fire. The joints are filled with forming foam and are stopping – in case of fire – the spreading of fire, heat and smoke.
