REX mono brake rotors made of custom friction materials.
The brake rotors are designed with custom geometry and are manufactured from a continuous material blank.
The power transmission (gearing) and braking and holding function are realised by (a continuous) friction material.
Characteristics
- lighter than conventional brake rotors with aluminium carriers, thus higher energy efficiency
- lower gearing backlash, thus more precise positioning than conventional brake rotors with aluminium carriers
- due to damping material properties, lower noise level than conventional brake rotors, even in alternating applications
- longer gearing life due to higher fatigue strength than aluminium carriers (gearing does not fail)
- increased protection against forgery, since custom tools are required for production
