The EN ISO 11612 standard defines the requirements across Europe for protective clothing that must protect against heat, flames, and molten metal splashes. It specifies which hazards must be considered, which test procedures apply, and the minimum performance levels materials must achieve.

The standard distinguishes between different types of thermal exposure—including flame contact, convective and radiant heat, contact heat, as well as molten aluminum and iron—and assigns them to clearly defined performance levels. It is used in industries where employees are exposed to high temperatures, such as metal processing, welding technology, foundries, the glass industry, power generation, the chemical industry, and work involving open flames.

Our aramid fabrics with release film or polyester film are specifically designed to reliably meet the requirements of EN ISO 11612. They offer excellent flame resistance, high temperature stability, protection against molten metal splashes, and strong mechanical durability. This makes them ideal for manufacturing professional protective clothing such as jackets, coveralls, aprons, sleeve and hand protection systems that reliably safeguard workers in demanding thermal work environments.
