REX technical textiles find their place in very versatile as well as complex areas of industry. Every day, the textiles withstand very specific and difficult challenges in their application, ensuring the safety and efficiency of person and machine.
The broad product portfolio includes technical textiles for heat protection and made of glass, technical yarns and narrow textiles e.g. tapes made of various raw materials such as glass and aramid.
Personal protective equipment is just one of many possible applications. The function of the protective clothing is to protect the wearer from thermal exposure and metal splashes. REX technical textiles are also used as insulation material for thermal insulation of pipelines, air-conditioning ducts, turbines and engines in ships, power plants and industrial facilities.
The fabrics are, of course, tested and certified by institutes and authorities such as BG-Verkehr, The Bundeswehr Research Institute for Materials, Fuels and Lubricants (WIWeB) or other external testing institutes in order to meet the high requirements of marine and railroad equipment. Our heat protection fabrics are tested and certified at the Saxon Textile Research Institute (STFI) according to the standards combatting heat and flame, such as EN ISO 11612. In addition, our heat protection raw fabrics are entitled to bear the Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 certificate – for the health safety of our products.
