Another step towards sustainability: An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) has now been successfully published and approved for our fire protection product Rexpandit.
Rexpandit is an intumescent fire protection joint element designed for the reliable sealing of structural joints in walls and floors. In the event of a fire, the material expands and helps prevent the spread of fire and smoke through building joints.
The product is based on a compressible foam strip equipped on both sides with a double layer of Flaton-flex EN.
An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is an internationally recognized document that:
- is based on a scientifically verified Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)
- transparently presents all relevant environmental impacts
- enables an independent and standardized evaluation of environmental performance
The EPD considers the entire product life cycle – from raw material extraction and production through to end-of-life disposal.
