In order to reduce smoke density to a minimum during initial use and thus, among other things, meet the stringent requirements of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), we can subject our raw fabrics to thermal treatment. During the so-called thermal desizing process, also known as caramelisation, the organic components of the yarn size smoke off down to a minimum content of 0.2% and thus do not interfere with end application deployment. At the same time, this also allows us to significantly improve the adhesion of coating materials such as silicone.
- residual size content up to 0.2%
- application temperature: up to 500 °C, short-term up to 600 °C
