Flaton-flex A is a tape that foams up in case of fire for fire protection sealing of structural joints in walls or ceilings. Specially developed for joints up to 10 mm.
Flaton-flex A is 100 mm wide, flexible and is attached to the wooden component by means of staples when installed in the middle of the joint.
Its mode of action is based on the formation of a heat-insulating foam in case of fire. Joints are filled by the material that forms and prevent the passage of fire, heat and smoke in the case of fire.
- Flaton-flex A has building material class B2 according to DIN 4102
- halogen-, antimony-, silicone- and solvent-free
- tested in accordance with DIN 1366-4 for joints in timber construction
- EI 90 proven

Wall joints with Flaton-flex A:
Timber component – timber component: joint up to 10 mm
Timber component – solid component: joint up to 5 mm
Ceiling joints and joints between ceilings and rising walls with Flaton-flex A:
Timber component – timber component: Joint up to 10 mm
Timber component – solid component: joint up to 5 mm
Ceiling-wall connection joints with Flaton-flex A:
Timber component – timber component: Joint up to 5 mm
Note on the components:
Solid components must have a component thickness > 150 mm and a bulk density of at least 650 ± 200 kg/m³.
Timber components must have a component thickness > 120 mm in a wall and > 160 mm in a ceiling.
Flaton-flex A is supplied as a 15m roll. The width is 100mm, the thickness 2mm.
Before installing Flaton-flex A, the inner flanks of the joint should be cleaned. In the case of solid construction elements, formwork, concrete splashes etc. must be removed.
Flaton-flex A is simply applied to the middle of the joint on the timber component using staples before the components are installed. The elements are to be laid butt to butt on the front side. No further fixing is necessary.
Alternatively, Flaton-flex A can also be applied to prefabricated elements during production after consultation.
