Fire resistance classes according to ETA-13/0270

According to the building regulations list, the DIN classifications “F 120” and “F 180” are equivalent to the EN classifications “EI 120” and “EI 180”.

V = vertical = joint in wall construction

H = horizontal = joint in ceiling construction

M = movement = movement absorption capacity in %

  • F 120 according to DIN 4102-4

e.g.

EI 120-V-X-F-W 10 to 55

or

EI 120-H-M040-F-W 50

ERoom closure
IThermal insulation
120Fire resistance duration in minutes
Vvertical supporting structure (wall joint)
Hhorizontal supporting structure (ceiling joint)
X

Mobility: no movement (max. permissible lateral movement 7,4 %)

MMobility: maximum permissible movement in %
FButt joint created on site
WRange of joint widths from/to in mm

The joint system is glued into the joint on both sides. If the joint widens, the element expands. This is made possible by the expansion folds built into the aluminum foil covering. In case of fire, the Flaton VPG 12 fire protection board foams up any cavities that may have formed. The joint is therefore tightly sealed against fire and smoke.

Litaflex-Vario XL for wall and ceiling EI 120 and EI 180

Product as a system
The joint filling system consists of a “Litaflex Vario XL element” sealing element and Litaflex-Glue 800. The “Litaflex Vario XL element” consists of one or more “Litaflex SM 30” mineral foam boards. Two strips of “Flaton VPG 12” fire protection board, which forms an insulating layer, are arranged between the two layers of foam boards.
